(Kitco News) – According to a report by the Chilean state copper commission Cochilco released yesterday, the domestic copper production in June 2021 was 477,300 tonnes, which is 2.3% more compared to 466,500 tonnes of copper mined in June 2020.
Escondida, the world’s largest copper mine, produced 82,900 tonnes of copper in June 2021, a 21.6% decline compared to June 2020 (105,800 tonnes).
Collahuasi, the world’s second largest copper mine, produced 53,900 tonnes of copper in June 2021, which is 6.7% less compared to 57,800 tonnes of copper mined in June 2020.
Cochilco said that Codelco, the largest copper mining company worldwide, produced 151,600 tonnes of copper in June 2021, 14.9% more compared to June 2020.
