International Travel Restrictions (Including Into The U.S.) Intensify On January 26, Biden Administration To “Strengthen” Measures

Gold & Silver

And if you’re thinking you’re all good with that other thing? Think again

(by Half Dollar) Planning some international travel?

It’s not getting any easier, and in fact, it’s getting worse.

Much worse.

Here are just a few increased restrictions, beginning on January 26, from the CDC (bold added for emphasis):

On January 12, 2021, CDC issued an Order requiring all air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to present the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight. This Order will go into effect at 12:01am EST (5:01am GMT) on January 26, 2021.

Planning to travel into the US?

Well then, don’t test positive three days prior to flying:

Airlines must refuse to board anyone who does not present a negative test result for COVID-19 or documentation of recovery.

But wait, there’s more!

That’s right folks, and here’s just how lovely international travel is going to be going forward, in this instance, specifically coming into the United States, but most likely travel will be more or less restricted in a similar manner in many nations (bold added for emphasis and commentary):

Any flight entering the US, even for a connection, will require testing before departure.

So, what happens in the real world if a flight from Canada to Mexico is emergency routed into the United States in an unscheduled manner?

Meh.

Probably nothing.

But are you ready for the real kicker?

I can’t really type it, so I’ll grab a screen shot of it, and I’m pretty sure it will be obvious as to why:

Not that there are not eyes on that pic anyway, but just to play nicely for the &-0-0-&-1-3 algorithm.

OK, “Hey Half Dollar, don’t you know the A.I. also parses words from pics and screenshots you big doofus?”.

Yeah, I get that too.

Strange times, aren’t they?

And they’re going to be absolutely devastating times for the ill-prepared: It will be economic misery and financial ruin for most people.

But hey, today we’re talkin’ air travel, and the new normal is about to become SNAFU before the end of the month!

Finally, notice the timing in all of this: Plans going into effect on January 26 will have been made under the Trump Administration, but on January 20, all things considered, the Biden Administration will technically be calling the sh, oh, crap, we can’t even use that idiom anymore, oh good grief, anyway, the Biden Administration will be the Executive Branch of the United States, and in the incoming White House Press Secretary’s own words:

Why exactly are we bailing out the airlines again, for the second time in less than a year, and likely a third time in Biden’s first round of “stimulus”, when it’s pretty clear that the powers that be do not want the Proles travelling internationally?

I think you know the answer to that one.
