Although World of Hyatt isn’t one of the biggest hotel loyalty programs, it has a lot going for it. NerdWallet currently ranks Hyatt points as the most valuable hotel rewards currency, worth 1.9 cents each. Pair that with top-notch elite status benefits and exceptional high-end hotels and the program offers standout value.
Where can you stay with your points?
World of Hyatt properties cater to all types of travelers, though there is an emphasis on high-end and luxury hotels. Hyatt brands range from Park Hyatt on the high end to Hyatt House and Hyatt Place on the budget end of the spectrum.

How to get started using your points
Booking award nights with Hyatt points is easy, with options to book online or using the World of Hyatt app. You have a lot of flexibility when it comes to booking award nights in multiple room types: standard rooms, club rooms, standard suites, premium suites and all-inclusive stays at brands such as Miraval.
Booking award nights
To book award nights, first sign in to your member account. At Hyatt.com you’ll find the sign-in button at the upper right corner of the page.
Once logged in you can begin searching for reward night availability. Enter your destination, check-in and checkout dates. Also, be sure to click the “Use Points” box.
The results page will show you available hotels and costs in points. You can easily compare the nightly cash rate at the property overview page.
Select a hotel to view available room options and also Points + Cash options, which let you combine both payment types so you don’t have to wait till you have a huge balance of Hyatt points.
Before you complete a reward night booking, review the hotel’s cancellation policy in case your plans change. Most of the time the cancellation terms on your reward room will be the same as the normal cash rate, but it could be different at some hotels.
What to consider when redeeming points
With all points redemptions you want to make sure you’re getting a good value. Compare the nightly cash rate to the nightly cost in points.
Here’s a quick example:
During the summer, the rate at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is usually over $700 per night. Alternatively, the nightly points rate is 30,000 points.
Simply divide the nightly cash rate by the nightly points rate to see the value you are receiving per point. In this example, it works out to be 2.55 cents per point ($766 divided by 30,000 equals $0.0255).
Because Hyatt points are, on average, worth 1.9 cents cents each, this room is a great value for your points.
